MNSMS 2012 Recipients

The Mingma Norbu Sherpa Memorial Scholarship (MNSMS) Committee has just selected Mr Ujjwal Meghi and Ms Doma Tshering Sherpa  for the 2012 Lincoln University Scholarship.

On behalf of the Greater Himalayas Foundation, we would like to thank the MNSMS Nepal committee (comprising Lisa, Dr Ghana, Dr Hum, Angrita (HimTrust) and Angrita (TMI) with regrets from Lhakpa Norbu) for their continued dedication in selecting the highest caliber of candidates.

Below is a short profile of the two recipients of the 2012-2013 scholarship at Lincoln University. We congratulate them both.

 

1) Mr Ujjwal Meghi. 

Mr Ujjwal is 29 years old and comes from the Shankhuwa Sava district, a remote eastern mountain region of Nepal and belongs to the Gurung ethnic community. He completed a BS in Environmental Science and Intermediate degree in Science. He is pursuing a career in the field of environmental protection and sustainable natural resource management.

 

 

2) Ms Doma Tshering Sherpa.

Ms Doma is 27 years old and comes from the SoluKhumbu region of Nepal. She has a MS in Environmental Management and currently is employed by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu. She is also pursuing the field of sustainable natural resource management.
