Khunde Chamkhang Wall Art 2013

The Greater Himalayas Foundation has funded a thangka painting (mural) of “Drubthob Gyachu” in the fond memory of Mingma Norbu Sherpa. The size of the thangka is 13.5 feet long and 5 feet in height and it depicts the great buddhist saints / pandits / masters including the Shakyamunibuddha. The thangka was painted in Kathmandu and the artists journeyed to the Khunde to install them on the walls of the Chamkhang. This thangka was phase 2 of 3 of a major restoration effort supported by local communities, national and international institutions. The GHF is proud to support the local community and the traditional arts.
The Greater Himalayas Foundation has funded for this thangka painting (mural) of “Drubthob Gyachu” in the fond memory of an eminent conservationist, Late Mingma Norbu Sherpa. This mural is 13.5 feet long and 5 feet in height and it is being installed on the wall of Khunde Chamkhang.
