The Greater Himalayas Foundation has funded a thangka painting (mural) of “Drubthob Gyachu” in the fond memory of Mingma Norbu Sherpa. The size of the thangka is 13.5 feet long and 5 feet in height and it depicts the great buddhist saints / pandits / masters including the Shakyamunibuddha. The thangka was painted in Kathmandu and the artists journeyed to the Khunde to install them on the walls of the Chamkhang. This thangka was phase 2 of 3 of a major restoration effort supported by local communities, national and international institutions. The GHF is proud to support the local community and the traditional arts.
