Our Honorary Consul in Kathmandu, Lisa Choegyal, hosted a group of Nepalese scholarship recipients yesterday on their way to New Zealand for post-graduate studies. The group included two recipients of the New Zealand Development Scholarships: Sundar Tiwari, who will work on his PhD in Agriculture Development (Pest Control) at Lincoln University and Biplav Pradhan, who will study for a Master of Disaster Management at The University of Auckland. Others included recipients of the Mingma Norbu Sherpa Memorial Scholarships – Rebecca Gurung and Sonam Tashi Lama, who will both study at Lincoln University. While Gurung will study for a Master of Applied Science in Environmental Management, Lama will work for Master of Nature Conservation. Mohan KC, the third New Zealand Development Scholarship recipient from Nepal, is already at the University of Canterbury to start his Master’s degree in Forestry Science. The New Zealand High Commission wishes all the students the very best in their academic pursuits!
